Why Batteries?
Climate change is happening now, and it’s the most serious threat to life on our planet. Fortunately, there are plenty of solutions to climate change, they are well-understood.
Changing our main energy sources to clean and renewable energy is the best way to stop using fossil fuels. These include technologies like solar and battery energy storage solutions.
Our battery energy storage projects are an enabling technology for intermittent renewable energy generators. The UK needs more battery energy storage to enable the grid to rely on renewable energy, and our projects are leading the way.
Enhancing nature as well as the environment
Not only are we in a climate crisis but an ecological one too.
Globally, we have seen a staggering decline in biodiversity, including much needed pollinators. This is mainly due to human impact through land use changes, intensive farming, pollution and climate change.
We work with local planning authorities, ecologists and conservationists to identify the best solutions for protecting the local ecology at our sites.
Our projects identify a variety of bio-diversity enhancements such as wildflower meadows, tree and hedgerow planting, bird and bat boxes and improved grassland allowing livestock to graze around the panels.
Solar panels only disturb a very small proportion of the ground beneath them, typically less than 5%. Solar farms can allow what was intensive, industrial farmland to return to nature.
Collaborating with Local Communities
We adopt a collaborative approach with local communities to ensure our developments have a net benefit to the local communities. We work together with the community to eliminate the negative impacts and ensure that the local community benefits.
Renewable energy projects should be seen as a source of pride and as a symbol of a brighter cleaner future.
We want to educate the younger generations by offering educational sessions for schools local to our developments. This is because we believe in bringing about a better cleaner future for our communities.
